Can we Earn our blessings?

During History Maker 2010 I received this question

With reference to the One North Miracle Seed Sunday. Someone in my caregroup was asking whether we should should expect the 100 fold return for all the tithings and for the Miracle Seed sown with reference to what Pastor Prince said quite a few times to expect the return.

There are other instances like honoring your parents and you will have long life.

When doing all these requirements do we get a separate blessing?
What do your think?

1 comment:

  1. Eph 6
1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."

    Col 3
20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.

My superficial and extremely limited understanding is that yes, fulfilling the conditions does lead to extra blessing...

But consider long life for example
    1. Conditional : honor your parents
    2. Already given : Jesus' death on the cross

Perhaps it could be received both ways? Haha- I think there's no contradiction here. Likewise for serving also... should meet up face to face and have fun with these questions!

With regards to sowing and reaping...
2Co 9:6-11 shows that if you sow with a generous and cheerful attitude you will reap, and God is the one who gives the harvest. The focus of these verses isn't on sowing. The focus is on God:
9:7 God loves a cheerful giver
9:8 God is able to make all grace abound to you
9:10 He (God) who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness
