Ar·ma·ged·don
So this topic has interested me greatly ALL throughout my Christian life and still is. And it is also a topic of great interest to many in the secular world since it pretty much concerns their future as well. What prompted me to write this is the recent Chilean earthquake (another great earthquake - 8.8) as it highlighted yet again one of many the signs of the end.
Matthew 24:7-8 (New King James Version)
7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[a] and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
And here are a little numbers to show you the number of GREAT earthquakes that are exponentially increasing in just the last century alone:
1880-1890 - 1
1890-1900 - 1
1900-1910 - 3
1910-1920 - 2
1920-1930 - 2
1930-1940 - 5
1940-1950 - 4
1950-1960 - 9
1960-1970 - 13
1970-1980 - 46
1980-1990 - 53
1990-2000 - ???
this is a pretty old source and it doesn't show the new data. But u can pretty much imagine that 1990-2000 was insane. And in our more recent history 2000-2010 - with the 2004 boxing day earthquake at Indonesia being close to heart.
This topic of course not only limited to earthquakes but everything about the end times in general. I know I spoke to ZJ and Jiahao before on this and it was pretty interesting so Im hoping to see u guys inputting!

One note about the historical data -
ReplyDeleteit is easily argued that the numbers are flawed. Why?
Because technology was not advanced enough before 1980 to consistently record every single earthquake happening on the planet at that time. In order to prove that earthquakes are increasing, you must select a period where seismic monitoring technology has remained relatively static - say, 1990-2010.
However, I would be hesitant to say that even our times has been relatively static with regards to monitoring technology, because of the increase in computing power and sensor technology!
Anyway, you didn't post a question, so what do you want me to input? Haha-
Haha indeed there's no question. It's an open topic! Anything about the end times. Literally.
ReplyDeleteAnd also I'm still fascinated at how we can theoretically predict when the second coming is IF we knew the exact time Jesus ascended from his tomb.
Oh really? How could you predict that by the time Jesus rose?
